We are excited to announce that Maggie’s School received a $13,000 grant from the Kenyan government. This grant is to be used to build two more, much needed, classrooms at the school. Praise God for this blessing!
Maggies School Kids Conference Certificates 8_11Maggie’s School sent five students to the Kid’s Conference. This is the first time any of these children have been out the desert! They had a great time and were proud of the certificates they earned.
Our team in Kenya is reporting that the famine has not yet directly affected the children of Maggie’s School. The school is in a remote desert, so it is unlikely that people will travel through the desert in search of food. It is suspected that they will travel to other locations that already have camps in place. However, the price of food and fuel has increased due to the famine.
The second week in August, GOA held a children’s conference in Tumani, Kenya. Tumani is about 45 minutes from Nairobi. Five of Maggie’s School’s students were sponsored to attend. These children had never been outside the desert. They has a great time!
